VietQR scanning
Static and dynamic codes, decoded to the EMVCo spec on the phone itself. No API call to anybody, and no camera frame sent anywhere.
Scan. Pay. Saved.
Point the camera at the VietQR code on the counter and your own banking app opens with the account and the amount already filled in. Transfer as usual, come back, tap once — and the expense is in your book with the right date, payee and amount. Nothing to retype, nothing to remember and enter tonight.

The core flow
Scan the code, transfer in your banking app, come back and tap once. The third step is yours, because you are the only one who knows for sure that the money has gone.
The printed code at the counter with no amount on it, or a dynamic one with the amount already set — both are read. The app works out the account number, the receiving bank, the amount and the transfer message for you.
PayNote passes what it just read straight into your banking app. Five banks accept every field prefilled; for the rest the app opens and the account number is already copied for you to paste.
Come back to PayNote and tap once: the entry goes from pending to complete. You are the only one who knows for sure that the money has gone, so this step is yours.
Right date, right payee, right amount, already filed under a category picked from the payee name. Not a single character retyped.
This whole flow is free and uncapped, in Basic as well as in PRO.
Numbers
Only five banking apps accept prefilled details — that is the list VietQR opens up, not a choice of ours. For the other 28, PayNote opens the app and copies the account number ready for you to paste.
Features
Enough to see where the month went, and it stops well before turning into accounting software.
Static and dynamic codes, decoded to the EMVCo spec on the phone itself. No API call to anybody, and no camera frame sent anywhere.
The bank directory ships inside the install and is looked up by BIN, so you see the real name of who you are about to pay before you pay them.
About 55 glob rules covering the payee strings people actually see in Vietnam. Readable, editable, and not a guess — PRO also learns from the times you correct one.
A limit for the month and a limit per category, with a warning before you go over. Free in full, per-category limits included.
No sign-up, no login, no server holding your book. In a basement car park with no signal it records exactly as it does anywhere else.
CSV export that opens in Excel, free. PRO's encrypted backup uses the same format as the iOS build, so a move between the two platforms restores the whole book.
These are the app's real limits. Knowing them now costs nothing; finding them out at the counter with your phone in your hand costs something.
Pricing
No ads in either plan. Scan → pay → logged is free and uncapped: it is the part that makes PayNote what it is, so it does not sit behind a paywall.
Freeno ads
A complete expense book, not a trial.

Not a subscription; nothing auto-renews. A 7-day trial is included, no card required.
Buying on Android and buying on iOS are two separate purchases: no account joins Google's store and Apple's store together.
FAQ
Not to keep your book. You can scan, log expenses and read your statistics anywhere, including a basement car park with no signal. A connection is used when your phone opens your banking app to make the transfer, and when you buy PRO.
No. It asks for the camera so it can scan QR codes, and it still works if you say no — you then type amounts in by hand, like any other expense book. It never asks to read your messages, notifications, contacts, location or photos.
Because the money is moved by your banking app, not by PayNote. We are never in the middle, so we cannot see your account and cannot know when your transfer went through. The expense is written down as pending before you switch to your bank; one tap when you come back finishes it — faster than typing it in again, and you stay the one who decides what counts as paid.
Yes, if you have exported a backup — that is a PRO feature. The file uses one format for Android and iPhone, so a move in either direction restores it. Your data lives only on your phone, with no copy on our servers, so export a backup before you switch or sell a device.
No. You pay once and keep it, and nothing renews by itself. If the price goes up later, everyone who already bought keeps what they have.
None, in the free version or the paid one. Advertising only works by following people around, and PayNote was built not to follow anyone.
